About Jim McKeown

Jim McKeown is a contemporary artist with over 30 years’ experience working in the film industry, having contributed to more than 50 productions. Known for his imagination, craftsmanship, and attention to detail, Jim has helped create some of cinema’s most recognisable worlds. His work includes producing iconic props and set pieces for major film franchises such as James Bond, Jurassic World, Star Wars, and Harry Potter.

For much of his career, Jim focused on bringing other people’s ideas to life—working closely with skilled crews to create visually rich, story-driven pieces seen by audiences worldwide. Alongside this, developing his own artwork has become an increasingly important creative outlet, allowing him to explore ideas shaped purely by instinct, humour, nostalgia, and personal experience.

Drawing on a broad range of mixed-media techniques, Jim’s work is deeply influenced by cinema, animation, and comic art. His background in film prop making and world-building informs every piece, blending precise detail with bold, playful imagination. Narrative remains central to his practice, with each artwork carrying echoes of storytelling developed over decades in visual production.

This collection represents Jim McKeown’s own voice as an artist—original, curious, and unapologetically creative—exploring the themes, imagery, and pop-culture references that continue to inspire his work today.
